Westerdals take the state millionkrav to the right – Aftenposten

the ministry of education required 6. september that the college must reimburse the 35 million of the statstilskuddet that was given to the college’s precursor, Westerdals School of Communication (WSoC), in the period 2002-2012.

This is because the ministry believes that the school provided incorrect information which caused unjustified state aid, student loans and scholarships for students at three of the school’s non-accredited courses.

3rd-party-bio

Now turn the school back to the ministry and requires a legal review of the claim.

Our responsibility is to ensure that the Westerdals Oslo ACT do not incur costs to the college shall not have, and we’re looking forward to that an independent entity determines these questions, write the principal Tine Widerøe in a press release.

– the College want a judicial review of the lawfulness of the requirements, write the Aircraft.

56 million total

the Ministry gave earlier in the year notice that they will require a total of 56 million refund from the college, but has so far only promoted the formal claims about the 35 million for unlawfully granted state aid. This relationship is also reported to Økokrim.

The remaining 21 million relates to the unfair student loans and scholarships paid to students at those three lines.

Westerdals Oslo ACT discloses to the NTB that they have not yet decided how they will relate to this requirement when it comes.

Oversight

The private college is preparing also to meet in court in a different case. Around 500 former students have sued the school to be required for high tuition fees in the period 2002 to 2012. The former students require a total of 31, 2 million from the school.

Earlier on Tuesday notified the ministry of education that it will open the supervision of the private college, and that the ministry will create a separate tilsynsenhet to ensure that schools that receive statstilskudd, do not take economic dividends.

In the wake of the Westerdals case has the ministry received criticism for the audit of private colleges and vocational schools has not been conducted in a good enough way.
