OSLO, norway (Nettavisen): – It was a bit like driving radiobil, but quiet and peaceful, ” says Oslo’s mayor Marianne Castle (SV) after the sea trials with førerløs el-bus at Youngstorget on Tuesday.

- But it goes slowly, you could just as well have gone?

- Yes, it goes slowly, but there are supposedly buses like this that can run 40 miles an hour. But perhaps, the technology must be further developed when it comes to the sensors that will capture the obstacles in the way. You will also that the bus should stop if someone runs in the road, ” says the mayor.

- we Will get to see this bus in some of Oslo’s new residential areas?

What we are concerned with are nullutslippsbusser. Then we’ll see where the technology leads us with førerløse buses. I don’t think we will get to see this on many stretches in Oslo, but perhaps in some settlements. But it is fun to see what is possible to get to.

- Have bussjåførene reason for unrest?

I think most buses will have bus drivers in the future, but in many sectors of our society happens the changes, and many of the jobs we have today will not be there in the future.
